Origin data

The Lunario Lemon gets its name from its ability to bloom several times throughout the year. It has been known since the 19th century and is commercially cultivated on the Neapolitan coast of Amalfi and in Sicily (Italy), in addition to having significant ornamental use.

Tree and fruit description

Vigorous and highly productive tree. Wide, oval leaves that are dark green with a distinctive tip. Medium-sized fruit with elongated elliptical morphology, featuring an apical nipple and a pronounced neck. Thin, smooth but somewhat bulging bark, pale yellow in maturity with a mild aroma. Edible albedo, although generally of little thickness. Light yellow flesh, acidic and moderately juicy. It may contain some seeds, and its central axis is usually hollow.

Uses

Aside from its ornamental value, in gastronomy its albedo can be used in complex citrus preparations.
