Citrus limon
(L.) Burm. f.
TCF-083

Varietal Group:
Lemons and their hybrids
Origin:
Italy
Availability:
October - May
Origin data
This variety originates from Sicily (Italy), where there is a locality called Villafranca Sicula to the west of the island. It is characterized by having a tree that is very similar to the "Lisboa" cultivar, and the fruit is practically indistinguishable from the "Eureka" cultivar, although it differs from both because its main harvest occurs in winter in the northern hemisphere.
Tree and fruit description
Vigorous tree with an upright habit, very productive and resistant to frost. Foliage less dense than other lemon trees. Medium-sized fruits, elliptical or slightly elongated, indistinguishable from those of the "Eureka" lemon tree. They have an apical nipple and a smooth basal ridge. The bark is generally smooth, with a fresh aroma. Medium albedo but not pleasant in taste. Yellow pulp, very juicy, and its juice has a slight greenish tint. Acidic but fragrant flavor. It has seeds.
Uses
Its uses are related to those of the juice, as a condiment or, due to its special appearance and character, combined with other citrus juices.
