The Maximum Citron produces large fruits, some of the largest among citrons, hence its name.

Tree and fruit description

Tree with an open growth habit, featuring large dark green leaves. The fruit typically has an oblong shape, with a pronounced nipple at the apical end. Its bark is very rough, thick, hard, and pale yellow when the fruit is ripe. It is not considered an edible albedo citron, although it is flavorful and some palates do accept it. The pulp is abundant and juicy among citrons, with a distinct acidic hue and aromatic.

Uses

Its use, besides ornamental due to the attractiveness of its fruits, includes the use of the bark to aromatize fish dishes or broths, and its juice to season seafood or fish dishes, as well as in combination with liqueurs. Its candied bark results in a surprising and valued dessert.
