Acidic citrics are characterized by their new shoots and flowers displaying purple or violet hues. The Femminello Flor Blanca mutation originated in Sicily (Italy) and is distinguished by having green shoots and white flowers, even though the fruits remain acidic.
Tree and fruit description
Vigorous tree with an erect growth habit and very productive. Large, dark leaves with serrated edges. Medium-small sized fruits with an elongated shape and a typically pointed apical nipple, which may remain green on ripe fruits, along with a persistent style. Slightly swollen, aromatic bark of bright yellow color. Moderately thick albedo, with a somewhat bitter taste and hard texture. Yellow, juicy, acidic pulp. Juice of great quality both aromatically and organoleptically. Contains few seeds.
Uses
It can be used to season meats, fish, or salads, as well as to flavor ice creams, cakes, jams, or beverages.
