Caniculata of Palermo

Varietal Group:

Lemons and their hybrids

Origin:

Italy

Availability:

October - May

Origin data

This curious variety originates from Palermo (Italy) and differs from the ancient Limón Canaliculata variety of Tuscany because its fruits have a pear-shaped morphology.

Tree and fruit description

Vigorous tree, with an erect and productive stature. Large, rounded leaves. Fruits of small to medium size and very diverse shapes, although basically pear-shaped, with an apical nipple and a base that bulges in a crown-like form, giving it that covered appearance. Bark of bright yellow color, with a fresh, somewhat soapy aroma. Moderately juicy, acidic, and fragrant pulp. Almost total absence of seeds.

Uses

Its uses are linked to the distinctive aromas released by its bark, as well as the freshness of its juice.
