Varietal Group:
Lemons and their hybrids
Origin:

Origin data
The Vanilla Lemon seems to be the result of a spontaneous mutation that significantly reduces the acidity of the fruits. This variety has new sprouts that are green, but the flowers retain the purple coloration of the acid lemon trees.
Tree and fruit description
Medium vigor tree, open growth habit, with little foliage and few main branches, but very productive. Large leaves compared to the fruits, oval-shaped with rounded tips. Small to medium fruits, with very variable morphologies: oval, spherical, globose, with a hollow or solid central axis, with or without a basal neck, and with a more or less prominent apical nipple. Bark that can be smooth or slightly bulging, pale yellow in color with a typical lemon fragrance. Yellow pulp, juicy, without acidity, tasteless. Contains seeds.
Uses
Due to their characteristics, they are interesting fruits for people who do not tolerate acidity, as they provide a natural source of vitamin C.
