Rugged Cidra Lemon Tree

It is a hybrid of lemon and citron that is very particular, characterized by producing fruits with a rough and highly fragrant peel, while its albedo is sweet.

The trees have very large leaves and flowers. The flowers are also very aromatic. The fruits are quite large, predominantly ellipsoidal in shape but variable, with or without an apical nipple. The bark is very rough on the green fruit, a little less on the ripe fruit. Highly aromatic, it emits a strong and pleasant smell just by brushing against it. The albedo is edible, thick, and one of the sweetest among citron lemons. The pulp is scarce, acidic, and not very juicy.

The peel can be used to flavor dishes and drinks. The albedo is used fresh, as a side or in salads, both green and fruit salads.
