Origin:

Origin data
Kumquat originated within the program for the creation of new ornamental varieties at the Centro per la Ricerca Agronomica di Acireale (Sicily, Italy). It is the result of a cross between a Monreal Clementine and the Hong Kong Kumquat. The result is a plant that blooms and fruits for a large part of the year.
Tree and fruit description
Small vertically-growing and highly productive tree, resembling the Oval Kumquat (Nagami). Leaves are narrower and lanceolate compared to other kumquats, dark green in color, similar to clementines but smaller. Fruit is medium-sized and subglobose–pyriform in shape, with a slightly flattened apical area reminiscent of the Fukushu kumquat. The rind is yellow-orange, thick among kumquats, and with a slightly pitted surface. The albedo is thin. The flesh is abundant, orange, juicy, and acidic. It may contain some seeds.
Uses
The fruit is eaten whole and fresh, although it can also be candied whole. The plant has high ornamental value.
