Origin data

Hybrid of unknown origin characterized by the color of the bark of its ripe fruits.

Tree and fruit description

The fruits are small, but larger than an ordinary lemon. Their shape is similar to that of a lemon, but with a characteristic crowned nipple on the apical area. The skin is rough, thick, and takes on reddish tones at maturity if there has been enough cold. The albedo is inedible, although some palates do accept it. The pulp is juicy, acidic, and orange-yellow in color. These fruits do not have the typical aroma of citrus. Organoleptically, it resembles a saltwater mollusk, as its flavor has iodized hints.

Uses

Its characteristics make it ideal for experimenting in the kitchen, both in fresh and in processed sweet or savory dishes.
