Mutation characterized by the shape of its leaves, which resemble those of the willow, hence its name. Possibly originated in Italy in the 18th century. Risso and Poiteau described it in their treatise in 1818.

Tree and fruit description

Small, round tree with dense foliage. Leaves lanceolate, narrow and pointed. Small fruit, round or slightly pear-shaped. Bark colored orange, shiny when mature, thick and rough. Flesh yellow or pale orange, sour, with seeds. The juice is more acidic than in other bitter oranges, while also retaining some bitterness.

Uses

Jams or candied fruits are made with the fruits. Variety with ornamental value.
