Origin data

Nulessin is a clementine resulting from the mandarin improvement program at IVIA (Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research) in Valencia, Spain. It was obtained by irradiating the shoot tips of the Clemenules variety with gamma rays. It differs from its parent in the lower presence of seeds and the lower viability of its pollen, which reduces cross-pollination with other varieties.

Tree and fruit description

Large and vigorous tree, productive. Leaves larger than other clementines. Fruits very similar to those of Clemenules, medium-sized and oblate in shape. Slightly rough skin, bright orange in color and easy to peel. Quality pulp, with a good amount of juice and a good balance of sugar and acidity. If left on the tree after ripening, the fruit loses internal and external quality.

Uses

Fresh consumption.
