Álvaro Catalá Muñoz

Álvaro Catalá was born in Palmera (Valencia) in 1967. He has a degree in Business Science from the University of Valencia and is a career civil servant in the State Agency of the Tax Administration (AEAT) as Treasury Technician 6, with more than twenty years in public service.

In June 1999 he was elected Mayor of Palmera representing the BLOC party, a position he has held since then. In the last municipal elections of 2023 he won again the public office of Mayor with his candidacy with the political party Compromís per Palmera.

His professional skills and his discreet and committed personality have been recognized by extending his political responsibilities as President and Vice President of the Mancomunitat de la Safor on numerous occasions, holding one position or the other consecutively for five years, between 2007 and 2011.

He currently combines his position as mayor with his job at the AEAT (Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria).

His support to Todolí Citrus Fundació has been essential for the development of the Foundation, as well as for turning Palmera into a tourist-cultural destination in La Safor.
