Todolí Citrus Fundació takes part in Concordia: Dialogues on Social Landscapes in Agrigento

Last September, Cristina Giménez, Managing Director of Todolí Citrus Fundació, took part in the talk Art and Nature, organised within the series Concordia: Dialoghi sui paesaggi sociali, a programme of conversations and meetings exploring the many ways of inhabiting, representing and transforming the contemporary landscape.

The initiative, curated by Esther Regueria and Lisa Mazza and held in Agrigento (Sicily) as part of the Agrigento Italian Capital of Culture 2025 programme, seeks to bring into dialogue cultural institutions, artists and spaces devoted to research on the relationship between art and nature.

In the session entitled Art and Nature, Cristina Giménez shared a conversation with Federica Salvo, Director of the Giardino della Kolymbethra – a historic garden in the Valley of the Temples managed by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) – to discuss the relationship between art and biodiversity, the role of botanical gardens as custodians of natural and cultural heritage, and the importance of projects linking contemporary creation and sustainability, as well as the connection between contemporary art and the agricultural landscape.

During the programme, curator Andrea Franco presented a special version of Avant-Garde Cinema in the Garden, the annual film series she directs at Todolí Citrus Fundació, where nature and experimental cinema engage in dialogue in an open-air setting. Her contribution showed how this project, born in the Foundation’s garden, can be adapted to other natural contexts while maintaining its spirit of encounter between art, community and landscape.

The participation of Todolí Citrus Fundació in Agrigento reaffirms the institution’s international vocation and its commitment to building connections with like-minded projects that share the conviction that art and nature are part of the same conversation.
