Pigmented blood oranges (Citrus sinensis) possess anthocyanin, compounds with proven health benefits. They arose by natural mutation from sweet oranges, both in Spain and Italy. The Sanguinelli is a variety selected in Almenara (Castellón, Spain) in 1929, the result of a mutation of the old Doble Fina orange. Its pigmentation is intense and uniform, and its juice is of high quality.
Productive tree, with medium-sized oval fruit. Orange rind with maroon tints, very attractive. Juicy, tender and sweet flesh, without losing the aroma and acidity characteristic of blood oranges.
