During the summer, Todolí Citrus Fundació does not offer guided visits. It is a period of growth, when the citrus collection is developing and preparing to reach its fullest expression from autumn onwards. On occasion, however, we welcome visitors who, taking advantage of their proximity, wish to discover the project first-hand.
This was the case of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President of Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, who visited Todolí Citrus Fundació during a short stay in Valencia and met with our President, Vicente Todolí. They share many interests in contemporary art, research and the creation of spaces of knowledge open to society.
After visiting the El Bartolí Botanical Orchard, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo shared her impressions of the visit:
“Travelling through history, botany and art by way of the extraordinary collection of Todolí Citrus Fundació is an unforgettable experience. Walking through the orchard, tasting citrus fruits from around the world and discovering along the way works by Carsten Höller and Jorge Peris was a sensory journey engaging sight, smell, taste and touch.
We discovered an exceptional botanical heritage, made up of more than 500 citrus varieties, each with its own history, diversity, evolution and hybridisations. Its two libraries, the future museum project, the dialogue between botanical research and contemporary art, as well as the beauty of the site itself, make Todolí Citrus Fundació a unique institution.”
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is the founder and President of Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, an institution that has supported and promoted contemporary art since 1995, as well as of Fundación Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Madrid.
