Todolí Citrus Fundació takes part in the jury of Citri@relats 2025

Todolí Citrus Fundació had the pleasure of participating in the first edition of the literary competition Citri@relats, a cultural initiative promoted by the Municipality of Palmera to encourage local creativity and strengthen the connection with the citrus landscape and traditions that shape the identity of the town.

Cristina Giménez, Managing Director of Todolí Citrus Fundació, served on the jury alongside Joan Carbó Morant, Arnau Costa Pellicer, Paola Mendoza Sosa, Andrea Katherine Mendoza Sosa, Eduardo Mejías Velló and Àlvaro Vidal Català. Her participation reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to cultural outreach and to all initiatives that highlight citrus heritage across disciplines, including literary creation.

The competition —which received more than 30 entries across the categories Palmera and Cítrics— stood out for the high level of participation and the quality of the submitted texts. All entries were evaluated anonymously, applying criteria such as integration of the citrus theme, originality, narrative structure, linguistic quality, and emotional impact.

In the Palmera category, the jury awarded first prize to Jeremies Català Morant for the story “Palmera, un batec de calma entre bancals”, a sensitive evocation of local memory.

In the Cítrics category, the winner was Maria Matilde Chordà Sansaloni with “L’Aurora Cítrica”, a narrative that weaves citrus fruits into a text rich in symbolism and emotion. The finalist text, “Com deia ma mare: zzz!”, by Helena Moya Bataller, was recognised for its humour and its lively journey through different citrus varieties.

Todolí Citrus Fundació celebrates the creation of this new literary space dedicated to the citrus imaginary and the promotion of local culture. The excellent response to this first edition shows that citrus fruits are not only part of our agriculture and landscape but also of our creative identity.
