Concordia: Dialogue on the Social Landscape

Concordia: Dialoghi sui paesaggi sociali is an artistic-cultural initiative produced by Agrigento Italian Capital of Culture 2025, aiming to create spaces for reflection and debate that raise questions about some of the most crucial issues in today’s sociopolitical and artistic landscape: What is happening? and What are we doing?

The project, in which Todolí Citrus Fundació was invited to participate in a talk, showcases works that harness the potential of art to pose questions that encourage us to see things from perspectives beyond our traditional positions and stimulate our imaginative power.

Concordia: Dialogues on Social Landscapes is a project aware of the time and place in which it operates, believing in art’s capacity to activate mechanisms of cultural – and therefore social – transformation. It is a work where scholarly knowledge coexists with popular knowledge, taking the form of a series of encounters between people from the fields of visual arts, agriculture, music, architecture, ecology, flamenco, cinema, philosophy, dance and craftsmanship, always with a necessary gender perspective.

The productions presented in Agrigento create spaces for listening, challenge the audience, and invite participation.

Featuring artists: Alonso Gil (Badajoz 1966), Cecilia Noriega-Bozovich (Chimbote 1954), Daniela Ortiz (Cusco 1985), Francis Alÿs (Antwerp 1957), Muna Mussie (Eritrea 1978), Robin Kahn (New York 1961), Rubén Ojeda Guzmán (Oaxaca 1991), Salvatore Errore (Agrigento 1929-2011), Kimika (Gifu, Japan).

Performances by: Carmen Avilés (Puerto Lumbreras, 1993), Giovanni Di Maida (Agrigento) and Maria Sole Di Maida (Agrigento) – a dialogue between the Sicilian Tarantella and the Flamenco Taranta.
