ORIGIN DATA:

The San Marino orange was selected by A.B. Chapman in a crop of the Valencia variety on the San Marino ranch in the town of the same name in California (USA). Its main characteristic is that it bears fruit very well on the tree and can be harvested until August.

 

TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:

Vigorous tree, with dense foliage and rounded general morphology. Fruit is larger than the typical Valencia, spherical to slightly ovoid with flattened poles. Apical area slightly depressed. Gently granulated rind, bright orange. Juicy flesh, bright orange, very attractive. Some seeds may be present. Balanced juice in its sugar and acid content, which remains so in the fruit harvested at the end of the cycle.

 

USES:

This cultivar of the Valencia group can be consumed fresh as well as squeezed.
