ORIGIN DATA:
The varieties of the limonimedica group are, as the name suggests, hybrids of lemon and citron, most of them obtained naturally. The Pane lemon-citron hybrid is a cultivar that produces lemon-like fruits, characterized by its edible albedo.
TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:
Vigorous tree with upright growth habit. Its leaves are more oval than those of the lemon tree, with an intense green color. It flowers several times a year, although the most important is in spring. Fruits of oblong morphology and medium size. Rough rind, but less than other citrons, aromatic and intense yellow when ripe. Edible albedo, thick and hard, with excellent bite and sweetness. The flesh is acidic and not very juicy.
USES:
The albedo is consumed by cutting it into thin slices, alone or in green or fruit salads; purees can also be prepared with a surprising citrus flavor.
