ORIGIN DATA:
This is a hybrid obtained after crossing a Sicilian Lemon and a Citron. It owes its name to its breeder, Colonel Juan Garibaldi Interdonato. Its main characteristic is that it is an early ripening variety.
TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:
Tree moderately vigorous, erect and not very productive. Wide, dark and serrated leaves. Fruits of medium-large size, of diverse forms but predominantly oblong or cylindrical, with conical apical mamelon, which is surrounded at its base by an aureole. Yellow rind, smooth, shiny, thin, with fine granulation and strongly attached. Characteristic central axis, small and solid. Greenish-yellow pulp, crunchy, moderately juicy, very acidic and slightly bitter. It presents some seeds.
USES:
Good alternative to table lemon, because its juice provides a differentiating faint bitter touch.
