ORIGIN DATA:

There are no clear data on the origin of this cultivar. It is assumed that it is the result of a specific mutation of an early variety, possibly Owari. It was introduced in Spain from Japan given this extra early (goko wase) maturing trait. Among the cultivars of satsuma, it is characterized by late flowering and early maturation.

TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:

Very little vigorous tree, with tendency to be of small size and of slightly opened bearing, but productive. Lanceolate and non-winged petiole leaves, typical of satsuma. Fruit with a markedly oblate morphology, of medium size among the satsumas. Rind is smooth, thin, orange-colored and easy to peel. Seedless. Orange-yellowish pulp, juicy, sweet and with a soft aroma.

USES:

Fresh consumption.
