ORIGIN DATA:

Sorrento is located on the coast south of Naples (Italy). In this area, there is a geographical denomination of origin (PGI) for some of its lemons, and it is where the beverage known as limoncello is produced. The Sorrento Oval lemon is characterized by the quality and acidity of its juice, as well as its aroma and essential oils. It is a variety developed from the common Femminello.

 

TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:

Vigorous, upright tree. Dense foliage with short internodes and opposite leaves. Fruits of medium size and oval shape, with flat apical area with a smooth mamelon and basal area with a small crowned neck. Thin, semi-rough and aromatic rind, bright yellow when ripe. Juicy pulp, very acidic. Aromatic and fresh juice. It may present seeds when open pollinated.

 

USES:

High quality table lemon, both in the aromas of its rind and in its juice.
