ORIGIN DATA:
Variety characterized by the morphology of its small lemons, pear-shaped, hence its name. It is an ancient variety, cultivated in the Medici gardens of the 17th century. It is only found in Italy and the French Riviera.
TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:
Vigorous tree, erect and very productive. Dark, elliptic and elongated leaves. Fruits are generally small (about 5 cm high), pyriform and with a persistent style. Smooth rind, pale yellow when ripe, with a soft, herbal fragrance. Pulp of soft but bright tones, juicy and very pleasant acid flavor. Some seeds may be present.
USES:
Interesting variety as an alternative to table lemon or for mixed drinks.
