ORIGIN DATA:
The Orange Sweet Lime is of unknown origin. It is probably a natural hybrid, selected for the orange color of the ripe fruits, but its parents are unknown. Given its characteristics, those could be lime or lemon on the one hand, and mandarin or even orange on the other. It is characterized by producing fruits with low acidity.
TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:
Vigorous, leafy and productive tree with an upright growth habit. Leaves similar to those of the acid lime. Rounded fruits, larger than those of limes, with an apical mamelon. Smooth, thin, slightly aromatic rind, of intense yellow color, reaching orange tones at the end of ripening. Yellow-orange flesh, juicy, sweet due to the absence of acid. It has no seeds.
USES:
This lime is a good alternative for seasoning all kinds of dishes for people who do not tolerate acidity.
