ORIGIN DATA:

Variety characterized by the bulky longitudinal grooves or channels that presents the rind of its fruits. Its origin is unknown, although it is possible that it comes from Asia.

 

TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:

Vigorous tree with large leaves and white flowers, also large and very aromatic. Fruits of small-medium size and a little flattened. Rough and striated bark, with yellow-greenish tones during ripening. Semi-thick, spongy and bitter tasting albedo. The flesh is juicy, sour and orange-yellowish in color. Its juice is one of the least unpleasant among the sour oranges with acid.

 

USES:

The fruits remain on the tree for a long time, so they are a symbol of longevity in Japan, where they are used in preserves or to make jams, as well as for decoration in the traditional Japanese New Year celebration. Its juice can be used for marinating and seasoning. Variety with high ornamental value.
