ORIGIN DATA:

The Tringale Tarocco is a cultivar selected in Sicily and named after its discoverer. The selection was later stabilized at the Citrus Research Center, CREA, in Acireale (Sicily). It is characterized by the uncommon morphology of its fruits , and its good post-harvest performance.

 

TREE AND FRUIT DESCRIPTION:

Rounded, productive tree with dense foliage and dark green leaves. The fruits are markedly flattened, unusual among Taroccos, and with the apical insertion zone depressed. Smooth rind, very finely granulated, deep orange with reddish areas. Bright flesh, moderately juicy but melting in the mouth. Pulp pigmentation mainly on the outside of the fruit. Some seeds may be present. Refreshing juice, slightly fruity and markedly sweet at the end of the season.

 

USES:

Suitable variety both as a table orange and for juice production.
