Poecítrics is a festival that highlights the value of our landscape through the memory of the land and the word. Organised jointly by the Todolí Citrus Foundation and the Francisco Brines Foundation, it brings to life a project that takes place in a space with great landscape value such as El Bartolí and features, among others, the poems of Francisco Brines.
Todolí Citrus Foundation, with more than 500 varieties of citrus fruits from all over the world, has become one of the private spaces of greatest landscape value in the Valencian Country. Similarly, from Elca, the Francisco Brines Foundation has built one of the most important written spaces of 20th century Castilian poetry.
Through poetry, Brines has evoked like no one else the emotion of the Valencian landscape, the seasonal changes and the beauty of the citrus trees that, as in the case of Todolí, surround the family home.
The one who tells and the one who sings; the one who sows to return to the origins, to explain through citrus fruits the courses of history, and the one who is capable of retaining moments in a single memorable moment, come together to celebrate this first edition of an afternoon of verse and citrus fruits.
This first edition of Poecítrics has the participation of Mario Obrero (Getafe, 2003), María Eloy-García (Málaga, 1972) and Juan Carlos Mestre (Villafranca del Bierzo, 1957); three poets of recognised prestige who will take a journey through the verses of the poets who have approached citrus fruits through their words. From the classics to the most current ones, thus making a song in the Mediterranean.
