The disappearance of the agricultural landscape was tragic on a personal level, but also as a universal citizen: once you bury the land in cement, it is irretrievable. V.T.

Environmental and landscape purpose

Multiple actions are established around the collection, including the dissemination not only of citrus and its biodiversity, but also of the Valencian citrus landscape, cultural practices that respect the environment or the ecosystem that is established in a growing environment without the use of pesticides.

The farm is a microcosm that vindicates the traditional Valencian orchard, heir to the Arab tradition, with a remarkable use of water in irrigation ditches and ponds, halfway between delight and productivity.

Although the stars of the show are the cidras, pummelos, (zamboas), lemons, grapefruit, oranges, limes, kumquats or tangerines, there is also room for other fruit trees and for the cultivation of seasonal vegetables such as artichokes or thistles, medicinal and aromatic plants, ornamental species of roses or jasmines, and even for the unjustly called weeds that, after completing their cycle, are reincorporated into the soil in the form of organic matter. Chulilla hens -native to the area- and Peters pigeons, a breed of Levantine origin, mainly bred in Valencia, are also bred here. These aspects represent the by-product of the economy that traditionally self-supported the Valencian farmhouses.
